Today completely mature, although it has not yet reached its ultimate point, Murtić's art shows a perfect balance between the realistic and the abstract, between the sensory impression and the plastic problem, between emotion and rules that provide order, between intuition and reasoning. This painter never abandons the organic world of form, but is never its slave. He knows that what he does is paint; he does not hide it, but honestly admits it even in the titles of his canvases; through elimination, transposition and synthesis he arrives at a genuine transfiguration of hard facts into mental ones.
