Delving profoundly into abstraction, this complete artist has always blazed new trails through the very simplicity of his light-filled painting. His life force drives him (pulling us after him) to eloquence and enthusiasm, to sophistication and breadth, lyricism and vitality. And the most amazing and remarkable thing in all this is that not even today, when Edo Murtić is already eighty, has any of this lost its currency. His most recent works are confirmation enough of this.
